Best Places to Visit in Chennai - Marina Beach

We would like to share some of our suggestion about "Best places to visit in Chennai". Hope this will help the tourist from other states (specially from other than southern states) and foreigners who visit our Chennai.

We had thought for long time on what would be the first place everyone would like to visit in Chennai. In metropolitan city like Chennai, what would be the most beautiful place Shopping mall? Theme parks? Heritage buildings / places? Oh how we can give any other place the first place. So we decided give the first place to the non-other than "Marina Beach"

Marina Beach

Its a adorable ~ 13 Km long (2nd largest in world) beach on the east cost of Tamil Nadu, there are four memorial for former CM's of Tamil Nadu.War memorial, Tamil Nadu DGP Office, Madras University, State Secretariat, Napier Bridge, Vivekananda House, Lighthouse are some of attraction.  Now Lighthouse is open for public with very nominal fees. If you want to feel the beach don't miss the lighthouse, the view from lighthouse is so energetic.

Independence day & Republic day celebration take place here every year at Kamarajar Salai. Kamarajar Salai, (Beach road) is one of very important road in Chennai. This road is also know as VIP road, as its connect State Secretariat. Chief Ministers, Ministers and MLA's use this road frequently. It also connect, Madras High Court, RBI Regional Office, Chennai Port Trust.

Exhibition take place every year @ Theevu Thidal by time of Pongal. Marina Beach, is famous for its sea food. Sundari Akka Kadai is one of best place to try the fish food, when you visiting Marina beach don't miss it.

For family best time to visit is evening (5 pm to 7 pm), if you want to see the beach at its peak beauty visit by 05.30 am to 06.30 am.

Kanchipuram - Roots of Rich Tamil Culture

Dear Travelers,

Today we going to share some facts and picture of "Kanchipuram" It's one of district in Tamil Nadu, Wikipedia claims Kanchipuram as "an ancient city in southern India's Tamil Nadu state" and it true. 

From Chennai by road 60 km (~1.5 hours) away. The main attraction of Kanchipuram is temples, one of Tamil movie (7aum Arivu) claims Buddhist monk Bodhidharma was went to China from Kanchipuram. (Not sure).

To to enjoy the richness of Tamil culture, one should visit Kanchipuram for sure. SS Brothers Travels shall arrange a special permission to visit the Jain temples in Kanchipuram.

Price trend of Petrol & Diesel - But No Change in Our Price

Happpppy to talk to you again through our blog. Thought to share some insight about the recent price trend on petrol and diesel price in Tamil Nadu / India due to the daily price change mechanism followed by our oil companies. Below graph show the price change in last three (3) months in Chennai. 

From this data we understand that, both Petrol & Diesel prices have increased more than 10% in last three months. Considering this scenario most of business house in Tamil Nadu have increased their products / service prices. By passing on this price change to their customer hey want to keep the profit margin unaffected.
